News / Polaris deal for Bixter
SPECIALIST dealer Polaris, which manufactures all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), has announced the appointment of the Bixter Garage as its dealer for Shetland.
The West Side garage, which employs three full time and two part time staff, has been serving the local community since 1983, specialising in 4×4 repairs, and supplies ATVs and off-road trailers for sheep handling.
Owner Martin Nicolson, who grew up in an agricultural environment, said Bixter Garage was “proud to get the chance to promote Polaris in Shetland”.
“I’m impressed with the research and development at Polaris, always moving forward, and the range is exceptional,” Nicolson said, adding its new Sportsman ETX model was “ideally suited to our farms, which don’t have huge acreages”.
A Polaris spokesman said it was “almost an understatement to say the terrain [in Shetland] is challenging and although the aspects are not as extreme as the Highlands it is very much ATV country”, and it was pleased to announce the “exciting new development” with Bixter Garage.
