A SCALLOWAY man was jailed for four months at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Paul Macklin, of 14 Hogalee, was stopped by the police at Lerwick’s Toll Clock Shopping Centre on Thursday.

He was also banned from driving for a further two years.

Meanwhile Lerwick man Lee Hamilton, of Flat 4, 89 St Olaf Street, was remanded in custody for causing a breach of the peace while on bail.

Sentence was deferred until 18 March.
