SSE SAYS lightning strikes caused power cuts for around 180 customers in Voe overnight into Tuesday. Lightning struck high voltage equipment and ongoing strikes meant it was unsafe for engineers to attend until 6.30am. An SSE spokeswoman said: “22 customers remain without power but it’s anticipated they will be back on supply by mid afternoon and we’d like to thank our customers for their patience while we worked to repair the damage.”
