POLICE have confirmed that a fisherman in his forties has died after falling overboard from the Banff registered fishing boat Beryl, 20 miles west of Shetland.
He is believed to have been in the icy water for as long as an hour before being recovered by the fast rescue craft of the oil supply vessel Caledonian Victory.

Shetland Coastguard alerted to the incident at 9.30am on Tuesday.
Police said the man’s name wouldn’t released until his next of kin have been informed.
