News / Ferry to leave early
NORTHLINK’S ferry sailing from Aberdeen will leave at the earlier time of 4pm today due to bad weather forecast for Monday.
The Hjaltland will depart an hour earlier than its scheduled 5pm departure. The Hrossey is expected to leave Lerwick for Aberdeen on schedule, but Monday night’s southbound sailing is under review with more rough conditions expected.
The Met Office has issued a “yellow” weather warning from 3am to 9pm on Monday for Shetland – with severe southwesterly gales expected to bring gusts of 80-90mph in the islands during the afternoon.
Weather disruption meant no flights were able to arrive or depart from Sumburgh Airport on Saturday, but planes were able to come and go again by Sunday morning.
