News / Fire festival enjoys calm before storm

MUCH TO the relief of Guizer Jarl Craig Smith and his squad, the stormy weather stayed away for long enough to ensure Scalloway Fire Festival could proceed in fine weather on Friday.

Here are some photos from the big day as Smith, aka Bjorn Ironside, and his 60-strong entourage made their way around the village and its neighbouring schools.
