Thank you for the well-written article Hunger and poverty amid economic boom by Neil Riddell (SN, 19/12/14).
To show the northern isles MP Alistair Carmichael, who supports all the austerity measures put in place by his Tory colleagues including the bedroom tax, alongside those who are trying to offer solutions and pick up the pieces, like the Salvation Army and Miriam Brett in a clear and balanced way is almost unique in Scottish journalism.
