News / Faroese skipper case
THE CASE against the skipper of a Faroese super trawler was continued until early next year at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Pall Klein Rasmussen, of Klaksvik, Faroe Islands, faces two technical charges under EU fishing regulations. One refers to the chemical processing of fish, and a second alleges that fish had not been frozen immediately after grading.
The 56 year old was excused a personal appearance and Sheriff Philip Mann agreed to continue the case without plea until 6 January. Rasmussen’s bail was also continued.
On 9 November Rasmussen’s vessel, the Christian I Grotinum, was escorted into Lerwick Harbour by fisheries protection vessel Hitra while Marine Scotland carried out an investigation.
