THE COMPANY planning Shetland’s future electricity supply is reminding islanders that they are hosting two further public events this week.
Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) wants to hear from its customers about the shape of the competitive process that it will use to find the best way to keep the lights on when the Lerwick power station comes to the end of its operational life.
Last week SHEPD heard from businesses and individuals in Lerwick and Dunrossness.
This week, the road show visits the Yell leisure centre on Wednesday between 3 and 7.30pm; and the north mainland leisure centre, in Brae, the during the same time the following day.
Shetland Operations Manager Darren Hitchin said: “We would encourage people to come along to help us identify the best long term solution to keep the lights on for Shetland.”
