NINE PEOPLE took part in a Hairst Redd Up at a beach in the Dale of Walls on Saturday afternoon.

They cleaned up more than a dozen bags of assorted rubbish and plastic, along with bulkier items, from the Footabrough beach on a bright and breezy afternoon once the morning downpour receded.

The redd up was organised by a new group, Let’s Make Change, started by activists whose aim is to achieve progressive changes in Shetland. Its campaigners are broadly concerned with issues such as social justice and climate change.
