A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital for treatment following a collision with a car on Tuesday afternoon.

Police and ambulance were called out to the North Road area of Lerwick at around 4.30pm.

The road was closed for a period but has now re-opened.

A police statement added that the motorcyclist’s injuries were “not believed to be serious or life threatening”.
