News / Couper remanded
A YOUNG serial offender has been remanded until next week after he admitted having breached bail conditions when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
The court heard that Trevor Couper, of the town’s Cairnfield Road, had only been released from prison on Friday having served half of a 13-week sentence for a similar offence.
But he was back behind bars the following day when he again breached a bail condition stipulating that he was not to approach his former partner.
The 21 year old will stand trial in November on charges of assaulting the woman at her home address on 19 July, and has been told not to approach or contact her until then.
On Monday, he also admitted breaching the peace at his home address also on 19 July.
Honorary sheriff Willie Shannon refused bail and deferred sentence until 16 October.
