News / Ferries affected by gales
FERRY operator NorthLink is warning the travelling public of the first significant weather related delays this autumn.
The northern isles will be affected by a weather front that is sweeping across Scotland with gradually strengthening southeasterly winds reaching severe gale force by Monday afternoon.
NorthLink said that Monday’s southbound sailing to Kirkwall and Aberdeen has been put forward by two hours and will now leave at 3.30pm.
The northbound sailing scheduled to leave Aberdeen for Lerwick at 7pm on Monday is currently under review.
The ferry company will issue an update on that sailing on Monday morning.
