Letters / It’s not over
It is high time that Mr Ian Tinkler (RNR, Rtd.) took his own advice and stopped bitching about the Scottish independence cause (It’s over; SN 25/9/14).
As the 19th century Irish Home Rule activist Charles Parnell famously said in a speech in Cork on 21 January 1885: “No man has a right to fix the boundary of the march of a nation; no man has a right to say to his country – thus far shalt thou go and no further.”
You may think it’s all over, believe me it’s not!
