Letters / RNIB’s call for support
Imagine if 93 per cent of all books published weren’t available to you in a format you could read! In fact, only around seven percent of books published ever make it into an accessible format for readers who are blind or partially sighted.
This October is the Royal National Institute of Blind People’s annual ‘Read for RNIB’ month. We need your support to help us transcribe more books into audio, braille and large print.
You could join groups of friends and colleagues and hold a reading-themed event to support our work. It can be anything you want.
There are lots of ways to take part – from a traditional book sale, to dressing in dots to promote braille, to an extreme reading challenge if you’re feeling really adventurous!
