Letters / It’s your vote!
Over the last few days I have seen and heard from many people who have yet to decide how they want to vote on Thursday.
That’s OK. It is a big decision, which will change how we live our lives, one way or another.
Whether you are leaning to one side or just have no idea you still have a little time. It is best to be sure. Personally I have already voted, for me it’s over but I didn’t take the decision lightly.
My advice would be to look at the things that concern you most, as a nurse the NHS is a big concern for me but it isn’t the only one. Remember that most sides have put their own “spin” on their campaigns; both sides have called the other side liars. There are plenty of words being thrown around and sometimes it is difficult to get the facts! Especially unbiased ones.
Don’t just listen to those who shout the loudest, it is only their opinion and because we all care about our country and our future there is a lot of passion, don’t bow to peer pressure.
As adults we have the right to vote, we also have the right to a secret ballot; nobody else actually needs to know how you decide.
If you really can’t decide then it is also your right to not vote, or to spoil your ballot. If I wasn’t able to decide I think I would have written the reasons why on my ballot paper, yes it counts as a spoiled paper but someone has to read them!
I can’t say “Just go with your heart” because it is so much more important than that, you can use your heart as long as you use your head too!
Really all I am saying is: IT’S YOUR VOTE! YOU DECIDE!
