Could Douglas Young please explain how he calculated his supposed £500,000 cost in respect of our Prime Minister’s recent Shetland visit (‘Worth every penny’, SN 4/9/14)?

Any aircraft used would have remained in the UK somewhere anyway so to quote it having been used for four days is pure poppycock. It is typical of the absolute ridiculous financial shenanigans being spouted in support of the Yes vote.

Thankfully, the majority of the voting public won’t be so gullible as to believe such rubbish.
