News / Latvian’s ‘doughnut’
A LATVIAN fisherman had to surrender his ID papers when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon.
Dennis Putilo has been charged with driving his van dangerously at Lerwick harbour’s Mairs Quay by performing a doughnut manoeuvre deliberately rotating the rear of the van in a circle in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 33 year old, with an address at 3-25 Siena Street, Lieraga, is also charged with failing to provide two breath specimens to determine whether he was fit to drive after having been taken to Lerwick police station the same night.
His case has been continued without plea until 21 August and he has been released on bail.
