Scotland’s women table tennis team narrowly missed out on a place in the last 16 after losing 3-2 against Guyana on Friday morning.
In a nail-biting match that latest almost three hours Scotland’s Gillian Edwards was up 2-1 in the final game against 17 year old Chelsea Edgehill but was unable to complete the job.
Shetland’s Lynda Flaws won her singles game against Natalie Cummings 3-2 and was also successful with her double partner Corinna Whitaker against Chelsea Edghill and Trenace Lowe.
