News / Yestival at Mareel

YESTIVAL, the summer tour of pro-independence artists, is coming to Mareel on Wednesday night.

Local organiser Louise Thomason said the evening of music, film, comedy and spoken word will “be something really different, and quite special”.

On the bill are visiting singers Declan Welsh and Jamie Marshall, while local acts to feature will include Roseanne Watt, Erin Farley, Magnus Stout, Chloe Robertson, Bruce Eunson and many more. A short film produced by members of Bongshang will also be shown.

Thomason said: “We’re really excited that Shetland is part of the Yestival tour.

“Seeing what National Collective are doing around the country is really inspiring, and it’s great that Shetland, which has so much musical and creative talent, can be a part of that.”

  • Doors for the free event open at 7.45pm for an 8pm start.
