News / Diesel spill warning
Drivers in Shetland’s north mainland are being asked to take extra care in Voe after a diesel spill near the Tagon junction has made the road extremely slippery.
Tagon Store owner Scott Preston said he had already witnessed several near misses.
The spill is said to mainly affect the stretch from the Olnafirth primary school to the junction with the A970 road.
A spokeswoman for Shetland Islands Council said that warning signs have been put up and that gritters to sand the road should be on the scene by 4.30pm.
