News / Yachts back in Bergen

THE first yacht participating in the second leg of the Shetland Race has already arrived back in the Norwegian city of Bergen after leaving Lerwick on Sunday morning.

First over the line in Bergen was again Solo skippered Rune Aasberg and crew Simen Løvgren.

Of the 42 visiting yachts 41 were racing back to Bergen with the Desperada heading directly back home to Stavanger and not participating in the race.

At the prize giving on Friday evening at Mareel, prizes were presented to the yachts in each racing class. The local prizes went to:

· First across line and also overall winner of Race 1 – Solo
· Best placed newcomer – Utla
· Wooden spoon – Amante
