Letters / Almost £5,000 raised
Allison and I would like to thank everyone who helped us and took part in our 17-mile walk in aid of Sands Aberdeen (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity), in memory of our sons Ross and Kieran who were both born sleeping (Stillbirth charity walk; SN, 23/06/14).
We got prefect weather for the walk and completed it in 5hrs 10 min ending at the Oot Ower Lounge where we were met by our family and friends for a well-earned Chinese feed following the walk.
Special thanks to Lisa Williamson and Yvonne Anderson for walking all the way, to everyone who joined in our walk, everyone who came to the pub to help us celebrate, those who cheered us on along the way, Iris and Diane at Tetley and Anderson for donating the water and sweeties, Alistair at JWJ Whalsay for donating the wine for the finish line, to Rhona Tait for driving the car with the water and the sweeties, to Maggie and Ian Anderson from the Oot Ower Lounge for the day and night entertainment, and finally thanks to everyone who has sponsored or donated to us.
We set our target as £1,700 and our total so far is £4,838.96, with money still coming in, and quarter of that from gift aid still to be received.
We hope that the money we have raised can go towards supporting and caring for people who have unfortunately gone through the same as we have.
Thanks again to everyone,
Marie Manson
