Letters / Nigg Bay
Referring to the Nigg Bay development in Aberdeen, I would like to see talks opened up with ZetTrans to provide input for the proposed use of the port, including a possible future solution for the north boats.
Any input the project team receives from our end may be useful in the long term development of this port.
I asked Sandra Laurenson from Lerwick Port Authiority if she had any thoughts or input on the proposed port.
She replied at the May meeting of the Lerwick community council that this idea may be brought to the attention of ZetTrans for further discussion.
Recent feedback from local travelers, and Aberdonians as well as watching STV news indicates that the Nigg Bay project will be much welcomed for Aberdeen and may also open up new and better links to the northern isles and attract cruise ships to the area.
As for possible new contenders for north isles’ routes I would very much welcome Viking Line who operate a great service across in Scandinavia. Check them out!
