News / Police confirm man’s death not suspicious
SHETLAND police have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a 39 year old man who was found lying on a path in Lerwick on Friday evening.
The man was found by a member of the public as he walked along the path between Clickimin Loch and the neighbouring football pitches just after 9pm.
An incident tent was erected to allow officers to examine the scene the following morning in daylight, but has since been removed.
On Saturday evening inspector Lindsay Tulloch said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Earlier the police had said they were keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
The identity of the man will be released once the next of kin have all been informed.
