Letters / Moved and encouraged
Sustainable Shetland wishes sincerely to thank all those who donated and bought items at its auction last Saturday; also all those who helped organise and run the event.
Special thanks must go to our sterling auctioneer, Donnie Morrison. An astonishing sum of over £5,000 was made on the day.
We wish as well to say a huge thank you to everybody who has pledged or donated towards, and supported our Crowdfunder campaign, and to all who have offered such generous rewards.
We have already topped our target of £20,000 with eight days of the campaign still to run (www.crowdfunder.co.uk/sustainable-shetland).
We have been moved and so much encouraged by folk’s generosity and determination.
In total, over £123,000 has been raised to finance Sustainable Shetland’s Judicial Review of the Scottish Ministers’ consent for the Viking Energy wind farm.
We firmly believe that this demonstrates the undiminished strength and breadth of opposition to the wind farm.
The Scottish Ministers’ appeal was heard last week at the Inner Court of Session and we await the outcome.
