TWO LOCAL community enterprises have been awarded government funding worth almost £30,000.

Finance secretary John Swinney announced on Wednesday that Bigton Community Enterprise and the South Nesting Public Hall had been successful with their bids to the Enterprise Ready Fund.

The Bigton Community Enterprise has been awarded £19,468 and the hall committee in South Nesting is due to receive £10,360.

A total of 67 ‘third sector’ projects from across Scotland will share a total of £2.3 million.
