News / Althing debate
A FASCINATING evening of controversial debate can be expected later this month when the Althing tackles the thorny issue of assisted suicide.
The motion “Assisted suicide should be legalised” at 7.30pm on 15 February at Tingwall primary school takes place as MSP Margo MacDonald promotes her Assisted Suicide Bill through the Scottish Parliament.
Speaking in favour of the motion at the Althing will be Dr Sarah Taylor and Chris Bunyan while opposing them will be Hilde Bardell and Harold Massie.
The Althing Society will hold its annual meeting ahead of the debate.
