News / Transport disruptions
SHETLAND’s inter island ferries have been tied up as south easterly gales have increased to storm force on Sunday afternoon.
Bluemull Sound was the first council run service to give up fighting through mountainous seas.
The SIC said the service between Yell, Unst and Fetlar was suspended 1.30pm.
This was followed by Yell Sound (2.30pm) and finally the Whalsay service at 2.45pm.
