News / Thule punch up

FOUR men from Fraserburgh have been told to stay away from Shetland after they admitted being behind a punch up at Lerwick’s Thule Bar on Thursday.

Appearing from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday, 25 year old Douglas McCulloch, of Buchan Road, 44 year old Clint Cassie, of Cortes Crescent, and 47 year old Gary Strachan, of North Braehead, admitted injuring a man by swinging a pool cue at him, punching and kicking him repeatedly.

Twenty year old Matthew Ritchie, of Fairndale, East Moss Croft, pled guilty to punching another man in the pub, throwing a glass at him and smashing a television, while on bail.

Honorary sheriff Eric Peterson deferred sentence for background reports and released the four men on bail, on condition they do not return until 9 January when they will be sentenced.
