Letters / Corporate window dressing
Mr Garrett is stating the obvious (Ferry changes paying off, SN; 27/11/13).
I’m sure most Shetlanders already realise that a massive price hike brings increased revenue and profits for Serco and its shareholders – paid for by the islanders.
In his corporate window dressing he conveniently forgets to mention a further increase in revenue and profit, paid for by those who can least afford it, the pensioners, the disabled and the students of Orkney and Shetland, who had their travel discount slashed by 15 per cent.
