A 41-YEAR old man was taken to hospital with minor burns to his hands after a fire in a bedroom in a ground floor flat in Lerwick’s Leslie Road, on Sunday morning.
Two appliances from the Lerwick fire brigade were called to the fire at 9.11am.
Fire fighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal camera to tackle the blaze, which was under control at just before 10am.
The flat sustained extensive heat and smoke damage. Police said that there were no suspicious circumstances.
