News / Shetland Phony for free

Joe Watt.

LOCAL musician Joe Watt of First Foot Soldiers, Troppo Funk and Wind Up Projectiles has just launched what is claimed to be Shetland’s first free electronic release.

Available on Soundcloud under the pseudonym Shetland Phony the EP contains vibes ranging from “old school rock ‘n’ roll thrashing to drum and bass thumping”.

Described as a “must listen” for any supporter of the local music scene, the EP is a promo for the album Microphony coming out in the very near future.

Local promoter Alan MacLeod said on the group’s Facebook site: “Once again Joe Watt delivers the goods with his new band Shetland Phoney! Strong songs delivered with passion and focus.”

A local debut gig will also be announced shortly with dates to be released via the Shetland Phony facebook page.

The free EP can be downloaded from Soundcloud at http://www.soundcloud.com/shetland-phony
