A COUNTRY music festival, community film nights, an arts and crafts market, a local museum and a rural swimming club are all to receive lottery grants this month.
Shetland Country Music Club has been awarded £1,704 towards their plans to hold an annual four day festival featuring music from local and visiting bands from the British Isles.
Shetland Film Club will use £2,283 to orgainse screenings and film weekends for people unable to travel to Mareel to watch movies in Lerwick.
The group plan to bring a wide range of films, old and new, to around 3,000 islanders in venues ranging from community halls to care homes.
The biggest grant of the month goes to the Living Lerwick project who have received £9,873 to further their plans to create an outdoor market for outdoor produce, arts and crafts.
While the Shetland Bus Friendship Society have done well to win £8,850 for their planned programme of events to celebrate the wartime activities of the Shetland Bus.
Finally Westside Sharks Swimming Club are getting £1,750 to spend on new training equipment.
