Letters / Waiting for decent debate

I was interested to hear Malachy Tallack’s and Paul Riddell’s contributions to Radio 4 on the independence debate last night.

Malachy said that Shetland was lukewarm about independence because it is ‘far’ (from Edinburgh). Paul said that Shetlanders don’t want independence because they are ‘proud’.

I am hoping for a decent debate shortly.
