Letters / David against Goliath
Scotland’s airline, Loganair (along with Flybe) has introduced increased seating capacity on Aberdeen routes and now Glasgow; undoubtedly a contributing factor being the mishandling of our lifeline ferry services by Serco. (Extra Glasgow flights; SN, 15/08/13)
I would urge travellers to make sure their family and friends use the Air Discount Scheme and book ahead for best prices. That way they will avoid “lounge-segregation” and expensive coffee, and obtain a one-class fits all journeys of an hour as opposed to twelve.
As long as HIAL doesn’t start charging for parking at Sumburgh, I see no reason for David not being able to increase profits, service and competition.
And leave the insidious Serco to run Scatsta, NorthLink and the tagging of offenders.
Yours faithfully
Douglas Young
