Letters / Beware SNP tax plans
Do you, your partner, your relative, your friend or colleague earn more than £25,000 a year?
Do you earn even more, by sheer hard work, plus a total commitment to your family, because you want the best for yourselves, because you like having the security of your own home, or being able to afford the rent, or a nice car and a decent standard of living?
Then beware, as in the unlikely event of Scotland becoming independent, the SNP intend to reshape the present tax system.
Nicola Sturgeon has proclaimed that those with the broadest shoulders (anyone earning over £25,000 a year) should contribute to the overall good of society.
The SNP have said until we fix our economy, we are going to have to tax the well off more (anyone who earns more than £25,000 a year).
Inspiration for this tax system has come from Norway where anyone earning more than £57,000 a year contributes more than half to the state.
Ahh, now I see where the claim came from, that if Norway can survive so can an independent Scotland.
What these people conveniently forget is that the Norwegians not only pay double our tax they also earn double our earnings.
It is a fact that three out of five workers in Scotland earn less than £25,000 a year.
As a result, if the tax alterations were implemented, it would be on people earning more than £25,000 in order not to alienate the less well off.
In the unlikely event of Scotland becoming independent there will be a good chance that, you, your relative, your friend or colleague will be faced with the repossession of your car, your home as you can’t afford the rent/mortgage.
Plus a severe drop in your standard of living, all because of the SNPs intent to reshape our tax system and tax you to the hilt.

We all know the SNP will say this is scaremongering, but just think about it, the size of the Scottish working population, the percentage of low paid workers, the amount of pensioners per head of population, Scotland’s massive welfare bill.
Oil is not going to pay for everything, the poor or progressively even poorer tax payer will pay for most of it.
You judge, you don’t have to be terrified of being taxed out of house and home, simply vote “NO” next year and say “YES” to a better standard of living.
I can, and will.
