THE LATEST attendance figures from Shetland Arts reveal that Shetlanders love their new cinema.
Between the end of August last year and the beginning of July, 80,000 people watched movies in the two cinemas housed in Mareel.
That’s more than twice the number the arts development agency had aimed for during the first year of operation.
Marketing officer Lisa Ward said: “We are very happy to see the huge positive response to our cinema programme and look forward to a packed summer of films.”
