News / Shetland regains Stuart Cup
SHETLAND staged a strong come back to regain the Stuart Cup in the junior inter-county with Orkney, held in Lerwick over the last two days.
The home side was trailing 147 to 121 points after the first day, when Orkney won the netball and athletics, while the football teams drew 1 -1.
Following a strong performance in the hockey, beating the visiting team 4 – 0, Shetland needed a victory in the swimming pool to win the cup.
The team delivered by beating the visitors 56 to 38, which resulted in an overall victory of 197 to 185 points.
