News / Lifeboat stood down
AITH lifeboat was called out on Monday after a tour boat with 13 people on board suffered engine failure in gale force winds off the uninhabited island of Vementry, in Shetland.
However the lifeboat was stood down after the skipper of the 38ft Sceptre managed to restart the engine.
Shetland coastguard was alerted at just after noon, and the lifeboat was back at base by 1pm.
The Sceptre meanwhile carried on with its sightseeing tour of Shetland’s westside.
