News / Kristofferson gig sold out

LOCAL promoter Davie Gardner said he was “absolutely amazed” after learning that all 1,000 tickets for September’s Kris Kristofferson concert were sold in less than an hour.

Tickets, priced at £30 each, went on sale from the Shetland Box Office on Friday morning 10am.

A contingent from www.ticketmaster.co.uk had to be transferred to the local box office after their website didn’t work.

The Clickimin Leisure Centre, in Lerwick, hosts one of only two Kristofferson concerts in Scotland, on 30 September.

Gardner said: “It all was a very last minute thing. The promoter in Edinburgh asked us only at 5pm on Thursday if we could sell the tickets the next morning, so it was a case of getting out as much information out as possible.

“We didn’t expect word to get around as quickly as it did, tickets sold in a really unprecedented time.”
