News / Ward One update
THE OUTBREAK of diarrhoea and vomiting in Ward One of Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital is now under control, according to NHS Shetland.
In its latest update from Friday morning, the health board said that the ward remained closed to new admissions as a precaution.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said that there had been one confirmed case of norovirus to date.
Anyone who is intending to visit Ward One has been asked to contact the ward on 01595 743035 before setting off.
The spokeswoman added: “We would like to thank visitors for their continued patience and compliance with these precautions.
“The rest of the hospital is not affected by these precautions.”
