How much charity is left in the Shetland Charitable Trust? (Staff shocked as SYIS funding withdrawn, SN, 28 March 13)
It claims to serve the Shetland community, yet meets in private to decide to withdraw funding for the Shetland Youth Information Service. Concerns about the way SYIS is being run are not made public.
So-called discussions with Shetland Islands Council about its future are unlikely to be productive, as the SIC is cutting to the bone.
Meanwhile millions of SCT money have been and continue to be paid out to a commercial project that has divided the community, will in the best case scenario provide no dividends until 2020, and, as time goes on, seems an ever more risky venture.
For whom does Shetland Charitable Trust speak and act? This has gone beyond a joke.
