THE SCOTTISH Communities League Cup has arrived in Shetland for a two day visit as part of a national tour.
Arriving on board Loganair’s direct flight from Edinburgh on Wednesday morning, the cup is already half way through its travels around Scotland’s schools and sport clubs.
Pupils at Sandwick and Dunrossness will be able to see the cup on Thursday morning before it is flown back to Glasgow.
SIC active schools coordinator Danny Peterson said having the cup in the isles for a short time has already created a stir among children and adults alike.
“Community football projects are a brilliant way to get young people interested in the game.
“Through football we can encourage kids to work together, play to one another’s strengths and, by creating opportunities for them to be more active, help identify Scotland’s future sports stars,” he said.
