News / Is local always best?
THE ALTHING debating society tackles a topical issue once again on Saturday when four debaters will speak for and against the motion that ‘buying local is always best’.
With food flown in to Shetland by supermarkets Tesco and Co-op just before Christmas, the topic promises an interesting exchange of views.
‘Should islanders give more support to the local economy?’ will be debated by Ronnie Eunson and Vic Thomas (in favour) and Caroline Henderson and John Smith (against).
The Althing kicks off at 7.30pm in the Tingwall school.
