THE DRIVER of a car, possibly an Audi, was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital for treatment after his car left the main A970 road near the Laxfirth junction, Tingwall, on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses to the one car accident said the vehicle was extensively damaged and looked as though it had overturned several times.

Police said the sole occupant escaped with minor injuries.
