News / Storm damage
LERWICK fire brigade was called out just before midnight on Saturday after a 30 metre by 20 metre section of the roof of the Bargain Centre, in Commercial Road, had come loose in the storm force winds.
A spokesman for fire control said fire fighters secured the area until staff from the council’s roads department attended to clear the debris and closed sections of the road to the public.
Meanwhile, the Co-op supermarket in Lerwick also had some fresh food flown in, arriving in the store at around 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
