SHETLAND MSYP Emily Shaw has achieved another political ambition by being chosen as a UK young ambassador.

The law student will join a group of five other youth ambassadors representing the UK at international meetings and events.

The 19 year old has just returned from representing Scotland at the fifth Commonwealth Youth Parliament in Westminster, where she said she learned a great deal about how governance and democracy works in other countries.
