Letters / Lacks the balls
No matter how hard Jonathan tries to twist and spin this (Sorry to disappoint, SN 23/11/12), Andrew Halcrow is right in saying that Viking Energy ditched its Health Impact Assessment, commissioned from the Institute of Occupational Medicine in 2008/9 (Quite taken aback; SN 17/11/12).
He did not make this up, as Jonathan claims. Jonathan has wronged Andrew – plain and simple.
The “furious demands for an apology” Jonathan refers to are a figment of his overheated imagination.
I was the only correspondent to mention any redress, and said: “I sincerely hope SCT has enough integrity to offer a public apology to Mr. Halcrow” (Apologise and withdraw; SN 17/11/12).
In his original letter (Not ditched; SN 16/11/12) Jonathan failed to distinguish between Shetland Charitable Trust and Viking Energy. His confusion seems to have increased since, as he now seems incapable of distinguishing between SCT and himself.
Nobody, as far as I can ascertain, has asked Jonathan to apologise.
The reason I didn’t is because I believe he lacks the balls to do so. I’d be delighted if he proved me wrong.
Until I read Jonathan’s letter I was under the – obviously mistaken – impression that Shetland Health Board, rather than Dr Wills, was carrying out the Health Impact Assessment (i.e. evaluation of studies) commissioned by SCT.
