News / Pair recovering after Sandwick fire
TWO elderly brothers are recovering in Gilbert Bain Hospital after a fire broke out in a house in Noness, near Sandwick, at lunchtime on Friday.
Three appliances from Lerwick, Sandwick and Bixter are in attendance at the blaze, which was first reported at 1.30pm.
The two men suffered smoke inhalation, but a hospital spokeswoman said their condition was stable and they were being kept in overnight for observation.
The fire had been extinguished by 4.30pm, with two appliances remaining in attendance to assess the scene.
